Working with many people who suffered from car accidents or sports injuries increased my sense of compassion for their pain and made me even more dedicated and passionate about this wonderful profession. While I provided other modalities such as Lymphatic Drainage and Thai on the Table, more and more of my clients wanted and needed Deep Tissue Massage.
However, two years ago I began to feel a lot of pain in my wrists and thumbs, I worried that I could no longer provide the sort of deep tissue massage that my clients needed. And yes, I began to worry about my own health and safety - how could I continue in the career I love?
So, I decided to look for a technique that could help me to keep doing what I love to do without hurting my body. I am so thankful that I discovered Ashiatu - it seemed to be the perfect answer except for the fact I could not find training here in Broward County.
Determined to learn, I went to Naples, FL, to study at Barefoot Masters with Michelle Mace who is a well respected leader in this technique. Michelle made me fall so in love with this amazing modality that I continued my training, became an Instructor and was Board Approved as a Continuing Education Provider.
Now, I offer Ashiatsu instruction in South Florida. The positive feedback that i receive from both my clients and students is so gratifying that I am inspired to teach this work to everyone and I believe that everyone will be doing this in the future.
